Checked against HSBC India’s redemption, rewards and card pages, 28 October 2026.
You redeem HSBC reward points in the HSBC India app, through the Rewards Marketplace. HSBC says a point is worth ₹0.25 to ₹1 there, depending on your card and what you pick. Move the same point to an airline or hotel, though, and it can be worth ₹2 or more.
So the real question isn’t how to redeem. It’s where. This guide covers HSBC reward points redemption step by step, every option in the app, and what your points are worth on each HSBC card.
Quick Answer
How to redeem HSBC reward points
Open the HSBC India app, select your credit card and tap “View more”, then “Redeem points”. Tap “Redeem points now” to enter the Rewards Marketplace. Pick a category (air miles, hotel points, travel, Apple, vouchers or merchandise), enter the points you want to use, accept the terms and place your order. There’s no minimum and no fee.
Key takeaways
Redemption happens only in the HSBC India app. There’s no option in online banking or on the website.
No minimum, no handling fee. You just need enough points for what you’re picking.
Value depends on the option. Vouchers sit at the bottom of HSBC’s ₹0.25 to ₹1 range. Airline and hotel transfers often go well past ₹1.
Your card sets the transfer rate. Premier and TravelOne move 1:1 to most partners. Visa Platinum and RuPay Platinum need 2 points for each mile.
Premier points never expire. Visa Platinum and TravelOne points are valid for 3 years.

How to redeem HSBC credit card points in the app
Here’s how to redeem HSBC credit card points, straight from HSBC’s own steps:
- Log in to the HSBC India app.
- Select your credit card.
- Tap “View more”, then “Redeem points”.
- Tap “Redeem points now”. This opens the Rewards Marketplace.

Can you redeem HSBC points online?
Not on the website. HSBC says rewards can be redeemed only through the HSBC India app, so internet banking won’t show you a redeem option. If you’ve been hunting for an “HSBC reward points redemption online” link, the app is the place.
How to check your HSBC reward points balance
Open the HSBC India app, pick your credit card and tap “View more”. Your points balance shows up there, so you’ll know what you have before you start.
HSBC reward points redemption options
The Rewards Marketplace has more than 20,000 options in six groups. Here’s how they compare.
| Option | What you get | Value per point | Time to credit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Airline miles | Miles with 15 airlines, like Singapore Airlines, British Airways and Air India | Often ₹1 to ₹2+ (Premier, TravelOne) | Instant to 1 working day for most; up to 10 for JAL |
| Hotel points | Points with Accor, Marriott, IHG, Wyndham and Shangri-La | About ₹0.70 to ₹2 (Premier, TravelOne) | Instant to 1 working day |
| Travel with Points | Flights, hotels and car rentals booked in the app | Up to ₹1 (₹1 on Premier) | At booking |
| Apple products | iPhones, iPads, Macs and more | ₹1 on Premier and Privé | Within 7 working days |
| Gift vouchers | E-vouchers from food, fashion and other brands | About ₹0.25 | Up to 3 working days |
| Merchandise | Gadgets and home products | Low end of the range | Within 7 working days |
Values for transfers are PointsFly estimates from real award bookings. HSBC doesn’t publish a value for each option.
How much is an HSBC reward point worth?

An HSBC reward point is worth anywhere from about ₹0.25 to over ₹2. It depends on two things: which HSBC card earned it, and where you spend it.
Premier and TravelOne points transfer 1:1 to most partners, so each point becomes one mile. Visa Platinum and RuPay Platinum points need 2 for each mile, which halves their value on transfers. Here’s what that looks like.
| Where you redeem | Premier / TravelOne | Visa Platinum / RuPay Platinum |
|---|---|---|
| Gift vouchers | About ₹0.25 | About ₹0.25 |
| Marriott Bonvoy (typical stay) | About ₹0.70 | About ₹0.35 |
| Apple store / Travel with Points | ₹1 (Premier) | Up to ₹1, check the app |
| KrisFlyer economy | About ₹1.20 | About ₹0.60 |
| KrisFlyer business | About ₹2 | About ₹1 |
| Accor (fixed value) | About ₹2.10 | About ₹1.05 |
The mile and hotel values come from PointsFly’s own valuations in our KrisFlyer miles value guide and our Accor and Marriott guides. Accor is the easy one to trust, because 2,000 Accor points always take €40 off your bill.
What 4,000, 20,000 and 50,000 HSBC points are worth
Let’s say you hold a Premier card. Here’s what different balances get you.
| Points | Gift vouchers (₹0.25) | Apple or Travel with Points (₹1) | KrisFlyer economy to business (₹1.20 to ₹2) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4,000 | ₹1,000 | ₹4,000 | ₹4,800 to ₹8,000 |
| 20,000 | ₹5,000 | ₹20,000 | ₹24,000 to ₹40,000 |
| 50,000 | ₹12,500 | ₹50,000 | ₹60,000 to ₹1,00,000 |
On a Visa Platinum card, the voucher and Apple columns stay roughly the same, but the miles column halves. 20,000 points become 10,000 miles, not 20,000.

Transferring HSBC points to airlines and hotels
Transfers are where HSBC points go furthest. You get 20 partners: 15 airlines and 5 hotel groups. Most transfers land instantly or within a working day.
| Partner | Premier / TravelOne (points per mile) | Visa Platinum / RuPay Platinum (points per mile) |
|---|---|---|
| Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer | 1 | 2 |
| British Airways Club | 1 | 2 |
| Qatar Airways Privilege Club | 1 | 2 |
| Air India Maharaja Club | 1 (5 working days) | 2 (5 working days) |
| Etihad, Air France-KLM, Qantas, Thai, EVA, Vietnam Airlines | 1 | 2 |
| Japan Airlines | 1 (10 working days) | 2 (10 working days) |
| Turkish Airlines, Hainan | 2 | 4 |
| United MileagePlus | 2 | 3 |
| AirAsia | 1 point = 3 AirAsia points | 1 point = 2 AirAsia points |
| Accor, Marriott, IHG, Wyndham | 1 | 2 |
| Shangri-La Circle | 5 | 10 |
A few things to know before you move points:
- Join the programme first. You’ll need your frequent flyer or hotel number when you transfer.
- Find the seat before you transfer. Transfers can’t be cancelled, and miles start their own expiry clock once they land.
- Use your own account only. HSBC’s terms say points must go into the cardholder’s own loyalty account. Transfers to a spouse’s or friend’s account can get your points debited, as some cardholders found out this year. Our explainer on the HSBC rewards program enforcement notice has the details.
Travel with Points: Booking flights and hotels with points
Travel with Points is HSBC’s booking platform inside the app, run with Hopper. You can book flights, hotels and car rentals, then pay fully with points or split the bill between points and your card.
On Premier, each point is worth ₹1 here. There’s a booking fee of ₹300 per person per leg on domestic flights and ₹700 on international ones. If you find a lower price within 24 hours, HSBC gives you travel credits of up to ₹1,500.
It’s the simplest way to get ₹1 a point without dealing with award seats. And if you pay with your card instead, you earn extra points: up to 12X on hotels and 6X on flights with Premier.
Apple, vouchers and merchandise (the HSBC rewards catalogue)
The old HSBC reward points catalogue PDF doesn’t exist anymore. The catalogue now lives inside the Rewards Marketplace, under Apple, vouchers and merchandise.
- Apple: Premier and Privé points are worth ₹1 each at HSBC’s Apple store. Orders arrive within 7 working days.
- Gift vouchers: Easy, and the lowest value, at about ₹0.25 a point. Vouchers can take up to 3 working days.
- Merchandise: Gadgets and home products, delivered within 7 working days. Compare the points price with the shop price before you order.
Vouchers make sense for small, leftover balances. For anything bigger, you’re leaving most of the value on the table.
Can you convert HSBC reward points to cash?
No. HSBC points can’t be converted to cash or statement credit, and you can’t use them to pay fees or charges either.
The closest thing to cash is Travel with Points. You’re paying for something you’d have bought anyway, at up to ₹1 a point.
Do HSBC reward points expire?
It depends on your card:
- HSBC Premier: never.
- HSBC Visa Platinum and TravelOne: 3 years.
- Other HSBC cards: check your card’s terms for the expiry date.
One more thing: if your card is closed, by you or by HSBC, unredeemed points lapse. Redeem them before you close the card.
The best way to redeem HSBC points, by card
Premier and TravelOne: Transfer to airlines or Accor when you have a trip planned. If you don’t, Travel with Points or Apple gets you a clean ₹1 a point on Premier.
Visa Platinum and RuPay Platinum: The 2:1 ratio hurts transfers, so Accor (about ₹1.05 a point) and business class awards are your best bets. Otherwise, Travel with Points is simpler.
All cards: Skip gift vouchers unless the balance is too small to use any other way.
Here’s how much this matters. Person A and Person B both hold an HSBC Premier card and 45,000 points.
Person A picks shopping vouchers. At about ₹0.25 a point, that’s ₹11,250.
Person B moves the points to Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer at 1:1 and books Delhi to Singapore in business class. That seat costs 45,000 miles, and the cash fare on the day we checked was about ₹95,000.
Same points, and over eight times the value. Our guide on how to redeem credit card points shows how this works across other banks too.
Let PointsFly do the tracking
Working out which HSBC option gives the most, which partner suits your trip and when your points expire takes time. Most people just pick a voucher and move on.
PointsFly keeps track of it for you. It shows you which card earns the most on each purchase, and when it’s time to redeem, it finds the transfer or hotel stay that gets you the most for your points.
