Fees, the 5X rules in plain English, unlimited lounges and what a Biz Black reward point is really worth.

| Annual fee | ₹10,000 + GST |
| Fee waiver | Spend ₹7.5 lakh a year |
| Base earn | 5 RP per ₹150 |
| Business earn | 5X on tax, GST, bills and software |
| Lounges | Unlimited, in India and abroad |
Card overview
The HDFC Biz Black credit card is a ₹10,000 metal business card on the Diners Club network. HDFC calls it the BizBlack Metal Edition. It earns 5X reward points on the payments a business makes every month anyway, like income tax, GST, utility bills, business travel and software.
Here’s what makes it stand out. Each point can be worth ₹1 when you use it on SmartBuy, so the base rate alone works out to 3.3%, and the 5X takes that to 16.7% on business spends. Add unlimited lounge access for you and your add-on cardholders, and it’s easy to see why it’s one of the most talked-about business cards in India.
It isn’t for everyone, though. The entry bar is high, and because it runs on Diners Club, a few merchants won’t take it. We’ll cover both below.
Good to know: Biz Black is a business card for self-employed Indians with an ITR above ₹45 lakh. Everything on this page is checked against HDFC Bank’s terms as of November 2026.
Reward point value at a glance
A Biz Black reward point doesn’t have one fixed value. It depends on how you use it.

Products and vouchers sit in between, at up to ₹0.50 a point, and KrisFlyer economy works out to about ₹1.20. Here’s the gap in rupees. Say you earn the full 7,500 extra points from the 5X in a cycle. As cashback, they’re worth ₹2,250. On a SmartBuy flight, they’re worth ₹7,500. Same points, more than three times the value.

What’s in this guide
HDFC Biz Black credit card fees and charges
The HDFC Biz Black credit card costs ₹10,000 + GST to join and ₹10,000 + GST a year. HDFC waives the renewal fee if you spend ₹7.5 lakh on the card in a card year.
How to get the renewal fee waived
Spend ₹7.5 lakh across the 12 billing cycles before your card anniversary, and you won’t pay the fee for the next year. That’s about ₹62,500 a month. If you’re already putting ₹50,000 a cycle on the card to unlock the 5X, you’re most of the way there.
The joining fee is a different story. HDFC doesn’t offer a waiver on it, so plan on paying ₹10,000 + GST in your first year. The welcome benefit (more on that below) helps balance it out.
| Charge | What you pay |
|---|---|
| Joining fee | ₹10,000 + GST |
| Annual fee | ₹10,000 + GST, waived on ₹7.5 lakh spend in the card year |
| Forex markup | 2% + GST |
| Paying in rupees abroad (DCC) | 1.75% + GST |
| Interest | 1.99% a month (23.88% a year) |
| Cash withdrawal | 2.5% of the amount (minimum ₹500) |
| Balance transfer | 1% of the amount or ₹250, whichever is higher |
| Rent payments | 1% fee, capped at ₹4,999 per transaction |
| Utility bills above ₹75,000 a month | 1% fee on the month’s utility spends, capped at ₹4,999 |
| Wallet loads above ₹10,000 a month | 1% fee, capped at ₹4,999 a month |
| Card reissue (lost, stolen or damaged) | ₹3,500 for the metal card |
Two things work in your favour here. The 1.99% monthly interest rate is much lower than the 3.75% on most HDFC cards, and the 2% forex markup beats the 3.5% you’d pay on many others.
HDFC Biz Black credit card eligibility
You’re eligible for the HDFC Biz Black credit card if you’re a self-employed Indian aged 21 to 65 with an ITR above ₹45 lakh a year from business income and a banking relationship with HDFC.
| Requirement | What HDFC asks for |
|---|---|
| Who can apply | Self-employed Indian citizens |
| Age | 21 to 65 years |
| Income | ITR above ₹45 lakh a year, from business income |
| Bank relationship | An existing account with HDFC (HDFC calls it a “liability relationship”) |
You’ll still see ₹21 lakh or ₹30 lakh on older review sites. HDFC raised the bar to ₹45 lakh in 2026. And there’s no salaried route, so if you draw a salary, this card isn’t open to you.
Documents you’ll need
- Your Income Tax Return (ITR), which HDFC says is a must
- GST returns
- PAN and KYC details
- Bank statements, if HDFC asks for them during its checks
How to apply
- Start on HDFC’s website. Enter your mobile number and verify it, then add your PAN or date of birth.
- Check your details and pick the card. Choose Biz Black from the business cards on offer.
- Upload your ITR. Add any other documents HDFC asks for.
- Finish KYC. Some applicants need video KYC. Then it’s down to HDFC’s approval.
Don’t meet the ₹45 lakh bar?
Look at the HDFC Biz Power credit card. It needs an ITR above ₹12 lakh, costs ₹2,500 and still earns 5X on tax, GST and bills. Our guide to HDFC business credit cards compared puts all four side by side.
How you earn Biz Black reward points
The HDFC Biz Black credit card earns 5 reward points per ₹150 on regular spends and 25 points per ₹150 on business spends like income tax, GST, bills and software, once you’ve crossed ₹50,000 of total spends in the statement cycle.
How the 5X works
The 5X comes down to three rules.
- Cross ₹50,000 in the cycle. This is your total spend on the card in that statement cycle, not just your business spends. Once you’re past it, every 5X spend in that cycle earns 25 points per ₹150.
- Know the cap. The extra points from the 5X are capped at 7,500 per statement cycle, across all five categories together. You reach the cap at about ₹56,250 of 5X spends. Spend more than that and you still earn the usual 5 points per ₹150.
- Watch for refunds. If a refund or reversal takes your total below ₹50,000, you lose the 5X for that cycle. Keep a small buffer above the line.
Lots of reviews say you need ₹50,000 of business spends to unlock the 5X. That’s not how HDFC’s own example works. In it, a cardholder spends ₹40,000 on PayZapp, GST and MakeMyTrip MyBiz plus ₹50,000 on other things, and still gets 5X on the full ₹40,000.
Here’s how a typical cycle might look:
- You pay ₹42,000 of GST and ₹12,000 for Tally and AWS. That’s ₹54,000 of 5X spends, which earns 9,000 points.
- You spend another ₹27,000 on regular business purchases, which earns 900 points.
- Your total is ₹81,000, so the 5X is on. You end up with 9,900 points.
Use those on a SmartBuy flight and they’re worth ₹9,900. That’s about 12% back on ₹81,000 of spending, and most of it went on payments your business had to make anyway.
The five 5X categories
| Category | How to pay for 5X |
|---|---|
| Income tax and advance tax | On eportal.incometax.gov.in |
| GST | On payment.gst.gov.in |
| Bill payments | Through SmartPay or PayZapp |
| Flights and hotels | MakeMyTrip MyBiz, through SmartBuy BizDeals |
| Business software | Nuclei, through SmartBuy BizDeals (Tally, Microsoft 365, AWS, Google Workspace, Canva and more) |
PayZapp payments for clubs, housing, rent, hospitals, education, donations, FASTag, municipal tax, mutual funds, loans, credit card bills and wallet loads don’t get the 5X.
SmartBuy: up to 10X
Biz Black also earns more on HDFC SmartBuy, with up to 10X on travel bookings, apparel and electronics. SmartBuy points are capped at 10,000 a month, and the merchant list changes often, so check SmartBuy before a big purchase.
Caps and what earns nothing
A few everyday categories still earn, but with monthly caps: 5,000 points on insurance, and 2,000 points each on groceries, utilities, and telecom and cable. Across the whole card, you can earn up to 1,50,000 points in one statement cycle.
Fuel, wallet loads, rent, education, EMI purchases and online gaming earn nothing. If you convert a purchase to EMI later, HDFC takes back the points you earned on it.
What your Biz Black reward points are actually worth
One Biz Black reward point is worth up to ₹1 on SmartBuy flights and hotels or in HDFC’s business catalogue, up to ₹0.50 on products and vouchers, and ₹0.30 as cashback. Move it to KrisFlyer at 1:1 and it can be worth ₹2 in business class.
| How you redeem | Value per point | Return on 5X spends | Return on regular spends |
|---|---|---|---|
| KrisFlyer, business class (1:1) | About ₹2 | 33.3% | 6.7% |
| KrisFlyer, economy (1:1) | About ₹1.20 | 20% | 4% |
| SmartBuy flights and hotels | ₹1 | 16.7% | 3.3% |
| Business catalogue | Up to ₹1 | 16.7% | 3.3% |
| Products and vouchers | Up to ₹0.50 | 8.3% | 1.7% |
| Cashback | ₹0.30 | 5% | 1% |
The 5X returns apply on up to about ₹56,250 of business spends a cycle.
Want to check a redemption yourself? Use this:
Value per point = what it would’ve cost in cash ÷ points used
Cashback is the simplest option, but it gives you the least. At ₹0.30 a point, the 5X drops to 5% back. So use your points on travel or in the business catalogue, and you’ll get more than three times the value.
Tip to make your PointsFly: on SmartBuy, you can pay for up to 70% of a flight or hotel booking with points. The rest goes on your card, and that part earns points again.
How to redeem Biz Black points
- Where: log in to SmartBuy or HDFC NetBanking and go to the rewards section.

- Cashback: you need at least 2,500 points to redeem against your statement, and you can cash out up to 50,000 points a month.

- Expiry: points expire 3 years after you earn them.

Biz Black transfer partners: KrisFlyer at 1:1
Biz Black points transfer to Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer at 1:1, the best ratio on any HDFC business card.
Using KrisFlyer
One Biz Black point becomes one KrisFlyer mile. A one-way economy flight from Delhi to Singapore starts at about 19,000 miles, and business class is where your miles go furthest. KrisFlyer miles expire 36 months after you earn them, so transfer when you’re ready to book. Our guide to what KrisFlyer miles are worth has the full numbers.
What about other partners?
For now, KrisFlyer is Biz Black’s only transfer partner. HDFC gave the Biz Power card 22 airline and hotel partners in July 2026, so more could follow for Biz Black. You can see how HDFC’s partners compare in our guide to HDFC Biz Power transfer partners.
Before you transfer
You transfer points on SmartBuy, in the Miles Transfer section. Every transfer is final, so check the numbers on SmartBuy first.
Golden rule: seat first, transfer second. Never the other way round.
HDFC Biz Black credit card benefits
The main Biz Black benefits are 5X points on business spends, unlimited lounge access for you and your add-on cardholders, an Accor+ Explorer membership in your first year, and up to ₹20,000 of vouchers a year.

This applies to cards set up from 15 September 2026, for new cardholders only. If your card was set up between 25 October 2025 and 14 September 2026, your welcome benefit was a Club Marriott membership and a ₹5,000 Taj voucher instead.
Milestone vouchers
Every time your spends cross ₹5 lakh in a calendar year, you get a ₹5,000 SmartBuy flight voucher or a ₹5,000 Taj stay voucher. You can earn up to 4 a year, so ₹20,000 in vouchers on ₹20 lakh of spends. Rent, fuel and EMI spends don’t count, and you need to claim each voucher within 90 days.

Business insurance (optional, and paid)
You might see insurance listed as a Biz Black benefit, but it’s a package you pay for. It starts at ₹3,785 a year, including GST, and covers fire and burglary at your shop, cash in a safe or in transit, and electronic equipment.
HDFC Biz Black credit card lounge access
Biz Black gives you unlimited airport lounge visits in India and abroad, for you and your add-on cardholders, as long as you used the card at least once the month before.
How it works
- Where: over 1,000 Diners Club lounges worldwide, including in India.
- Who: you and every add-on cardholder.
- The rule: make at least one online or in-store purchase in a month, and you get unlimited visits from the 5th of the next month. A purchase on 20 January, for example, unlocks lounges from 5 February.
- How to get in: show your Biz Black card. You don’t need Priority Pass.
- First month: lounge access starts after your first month with the card.
You can find domestic lounges on HDFC’s lounge list. For international lounges, use the Diners Club Travel Tools app. A Diners Club lounge guide is coming soon on PointsFly.
Things to know before you apply
- Diners Club isn’t accepted everywhere. Most big Indian merchants take it, but some smaller shops, payment gateways and overseas merchants don’t. Keep a Visa or Mastercard as a backup.
- Tax portals charge a fee. Paying income tax or GST by card costs about 0.7% to 1% plus GST, depending on the payment gateway. At 16.7% back, it’s still well worth it. Our guide to paying income tax and GST with a credit card has the steps and the maths.
- SmartBuy rates need SmartBuy. The 10X only applies when you book through SmartBuy, not directly with the merchant.
- It’s not the Diners Club Black. HDFC’s personal Diners Club Black is a different card with different rules.
HDFC Biz Black credit card review: our verdict
If your business puts ₹50,000 or more a month on tax, GST, bills or software, and you fly a few times a year, Biz Black is one of the most rewarding business cards in India.
So is HDFC Biz Black worth it? For a business at that level, yes. You’d likely cross the ₹7.5 lakh fee waiver without trying, the 5X turns payments you already make into points worth ₹1 each, and the unlimited lounges cover your whole team. The milestone vouchers add up to another 1% on top. It makes less sense if you can’t use points on travel, because cashback at ₹0.30 a point takes away most of the value.
What we like
- 5X on tax, GST, bills and software, worth 16.7% at ₹1 a point
- Unlimited lounges for you and your add-on cardholders
- KrisFlyer at 1:1, the best ratio on an HDFC business card
- Low 1.99% monthly interest and 2% forex markup
What could be better
- ₹45 lakh ITR bar puts it out of reach for many
- The joining fee isn’t waived
- Extra 5X points are capped at 7,500 a cycle
- Diners Club acceptance can be patchy
A great fit if you run a business with big monthly tax, GST or software bills, travel often and like to redeem on SmartBuy or KrisFlyer.
A weaker fit if your spends are under ₹50,000 a month, you rarely travel, or you’d rather take cashback.

HDFC Biz Black credit card FAQs
Is HDFC Biz Black worth it?
Yes, if your business spends ₹50,000 or more a month on the card. You get 5X points on tax, GST, bills and software, worth up to 16.7% back on SmartBuy, plus unlimited lounges for you and your add-on cardholders. Spend ₹7.5 lakh a year and the ₹10,000 renewal fee is waived too.
Is Biz Black better than Infinia?
They’re built for different people. Biz Black is a business card with 5X on income tax, GST, bills and business software. Infinia is HDFC’s top personal card, with more transfer partners. If most of your card spending goes on business payments, Biz Black usually earns you more.
What’s the difference between Biz Black and Biz Power?
Biz Black costs ₹10,000 a year and needs an ITR above ₹45 lakh. Biz Power costs ₹2,500 and needs ₹12 lakh. Biz Black points are worth more (up to ₹1 on SmartBuy) and lounges are unlimited. Biz Power transfers to 22 partners, but at 2:1 or 3:1. Our HDFC business credit cards compared guide has the full breakdown.
Is Biz Black the same as HDFC Diners Club Black?
No. Both run on Diners Club, but Biz Black is a business card for self-employed people with 5X on business payments. The Diners Club Black is HDFC’s personal premium card, with its own rewards, eligibility and benefits.
How much is 1 Biz Black reward point worth?
One Biz Black reward point is worth ₹0.30 as cashback, up to ₹0.50 on products and vouchers, and ₹1 on SmartBuy flights and hotels or in HDFC’s business catalogue. Transfer it to KrisFlyer at 1:1 and it can be worth about ₹2 in business class.
Can I pay GST and income tax with Biz Black?
Yes. Pay income tax on eportal.incometax.gov.in and GST on payment.gst.gov.in, and Biz Black earns 25 points per ₹150 once your card spends cross ₹50,000 in the cycle. The payment gateways charge a fee of about 0.7% to 1% plus GST. Our guide on paying income tax and GST with a credit card covers the steps.
What is the Biz Black credit card limit?
There’s no fixed limit. HDFC sets it based on your income, your ITR, your credit history and your relationship with the bank. If you need more room for business spends, you can ask HDFC for a limit increase once you’ve used the card for a while.
Where is a Diners Club card not accepted?
Most large Indian merchants and online stores accept Diners Club, but some smaller shops, a few payment gateways and many merchants abroad don’t. It’s worth carrying a Visa or Mastercard as a backup for those times.
Card terms change often. This page reflects HDFC Bank’s published terms as of 2 November 2026. Confirm current terms with HDFC Bank before applying.
