Card overview
The HDFC Infinia credit card is HDFC Bank’s top card. It’s made of metal, it’s invite-only, and it’s the card most people in India’s points community are trying to get their hands on (or hold on to).
Why all the fuss? Mostly because of what a point is worth here. Use your points for flights and hotels on SmartBuy and each one is worth ₹1, so even the plain 5 points you get on every ₹150 add up to a 3.33% return. Then there’s 10X on SmartBuy hotels, lounges for you and your add-on cardholders (unlimited, by the way), and 22 airline and hotel partners to move your points to.

Statement credit
Say you put ₹1.5 lakh on the card this month. You’d get 5,000 points for that. Use them on a SmartBuy flight or hotel and they’re worth ₹5,000. Take them as statement credit and you get ₹1,500. Same points, more than 3x the value.

Where you earn most
50 RP per ₹150
Hotels on SmartBuy, plus IGP, PharmEasy, Jockey and Ferns N Petals. That’s 10X the base rate, or up to 33% back when you redeem at ₹1 a point.
Strong rates
25 RP per ₹150 on SmartBuy flights, Myntra, Apple (Imagine and Tresor), MakeMyTrip holidays and brand vouchers.
5 RP per ₹150 on pretty much everything else you swipe for, whether you’re in Mumbai or Milan.

Key takeaways
- Infinia reward points are worth ₹1 each on SmartBuy travel. At 5 points per ₹150, that’s a 3.33% base return, one of the highest you’ll find on an Indian card.
- SmartBuy is where this card earns its fee. 10X on hotels means ₹50,000 of bookings uses up your full 15,000 bonus points for the month.
- The 12,500 welcome points cover the ₹12,500 joining fee when you spend them on SmartBuy travel.
- The fee is waived at ₹10 lakh a year. To keep the card, though, HDFC now looks for ₹18 lakh of annual spend or ₹50 lakh with the bank. Plan around the higher number.
- You and your add-on cardholders get unlimited lounge access in India and abroad, with no minimum spend.
What’s in this guide
HDFC Infinia credit card fees and charges
The HDFC Infinia annual fee is ₹12,500 plus GST, the same as the joining fee. HDFC waives it if you spend ₹10 lakh or more in the 12 months before your renewal date.
₹10 lakh a year works out to about ₹83,000 a month. For most people who get invited to Infinia, that’s ordinary spending. And even in a year when you do pay the fee, HDFC credits 12,500 reward points on renewal. Spend those on SmartBuy and you’ve made the fee back.
| Charge | What you pay |
|---|---|
| Joining fee | ₹12,500 + GST |
| Annual fee | ₹12,500 + GST |
| Annual fee waiver | Spend ₹10 lakh in the 12 months before renewal |
| Welcome and renewal benefit | 12,500 reward points once the fee is paid |
| Foreign currency markup | 2% + GST |
| Finance charges | 1.99% a month (23.88% a year) |
| Rent payments | 1% + GST, capped at ₹4,999 per transaction |
| Railway tickets | 1% + GST |
| Fuel surcharge waiver | 1% on fuel spends of ₹400 or more, up to ₹1,000 per statement cycle |
| Reward redemption fee | Nil |
Don’t skip the forex line. Most Indian cards charge 3.5% on foreign currency spends. Infinia charges 2%. So if you spend ₹5 lakh abroad in a year, you save ₹7,500, and that’s more than half the annual fee. You still earn 5 points per ₹150 on every swipe abroad too.
How you earn reward points on HDFC Infinia
HDFC Infinia earns 5 reward points per ₹150 on everyday spends and up to 50 points per ₹150 (10X) on select SmartBuy bookings. Bonus points are capped at 15,000 a month.
| Where you spend | What you earn | Return at ₹1 a point |
|---|---|---|
| Everyday spends, in India and abroad | 5 RP per ₹150 | 3.33% |
| SmartBuy trains | 15 RP per ₹150 (3X) | 10% |
| SmartBuy flights, buses, Myntra, Apple, MMT holidays, vouchers | 25 RP per ₹150 (5X) | 16.7% |
| SmartBuy hotels, IGP, PharmEasy, Jockey, Ferns N Petals | 50 RP per ₹150 (10X) | 33.3% |
The SmartBuy cap that sets your budget
All the extra points you earn on SmartBuy count toward one monthly cap of 15,000 bonus points. Here’s what that looks like in rupees:
- 10X hotels: you reach the cap at ₹50,000 of bookings a month
- 5X flights: you reach it at ₹1,12,500 a month
- Brand vouchers: these have their own cap of 3,000 bonus points, which you reach at ₹22,500 a month (and it still counts toward the 15,000)
Once you hit the cap, you go back to earning the base 5 points per ₹150. Nothing is lost, you just stop earning extra.
Tip to make your PointsFly: book your biggest hotel stays on SmartBuy first. They earn the most per rupee, so they’re the best use of your monthly cap.
Category caps on everyday spends
Some everyday spends have a monthly limit on points too. For insurance it’s 10,000 points. For grocery, utilities and telecom, it’s 2,000 each.
Also worth knowing (this one catches people out): HDFC counts points in ₹150 blocks. A ₹299 coffee-and-cake bill earns you 5 points, exactly what a ₹150 one would.
What your Infinia reward points are worth
Infinia reward points are worth ₹1 each on SmartBuy flights, hotels, Apple and Tanishq. They convert to up to 1 airline mile each through transfer partners, and are worth ₹0.30 to ₹0.50 as statement credit, products or vouchers.
| How you redeem | Value per point | Monthly limit |
|---|---|---|
| SmartBuy flights and hotels | ₹1 | 1,50,000 RP (shared with air miles) |
| Airline and hotel transfers | Up to 1 mile or point | 1,50,000 RP (shared) |
| Apple and Tanishq on SmartBuy | ₹1 | Up to 70% of the price |
| Products and vouchers | Up to ₹0.50 | None |
| Statement credit | Up to ₹0.30 | 50,000 RP |
Let’s put real numbers to this. Say you spend ₹1,50,000 on your Infinia this month and earn 5,000 points.
- Take it as statement credit and you get ₹1,500.
- Book a flight or hotel on SmartBuy and you get ₹5,000 off.
- Transfer to Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer at 1:1 and you get 5,000 miles. On a business class award, those miles can be worth well over ₹1 each.
Same spend. Same points. More than 3x the value. (You can run the numbers on your own spends with our reward points calculator.)
On most cards, travel is the “good” redemption. On Infinia, ₹1 a point is the starting point, and transfers are where you can do even better.
How to redeem Infinia reward points
- Log in to SmartBuy. Head to SmartBuy, sign in with your Infinia and see how many points you’ve got.
- Choose what you want. Could be a flight or a hotel, something from Apple or Tanishq, airline miles, or (if you must) statement credit.
- Compare the value. Flights and hotels get you ₹1 a point. Statement credit gets you ₹0.30.
- Pay with points. At checkout, choose to pay with points. Moving points to an airline instead? Keep your frequent flyer number handy, then pick how many points to send.
Tip to make your PointsFly: there’s a ceiling of 1,50,000 points a month across flights, hotels and air miles. Planning something big? Split the booking across two months.
HDFC Infinia transfer partners
HDFC Infinia transfers reward points to 22 airline and hotel partners: 9 at a 1:1 ratio and 13 at 2:1. There’s no transfer fee, and transfers count toward the 1,50,000 points a month you can redeem across flights, hotels and air miles.

Here’s one most people miss. Finnair Plus uses Avios, the same currency as British Airways and Qatar Airways. Finnair transfers at 1:1, while the other two transfer at 2:1. So if the flight you want can be booked with Finnair Avios, you get twice the Avios for the same points.
Before you hit transfer
Transfers are final. Once your points become miles, you can’t move them back. Most land in a few days. Air India tends to take 2 to 4 working days. KrisFlyer is the slow one and can take up to 7 working days.
So before you move a single point, make sure the seat you want is actually there. And since partners change from time to time, check the live list on SmartBuy too.
HDFC Infinia credit card benefits
The main HDFC Infinia credit card benefits are a 3.33% base reward rate, up to 10X on SmartBuy, unlimited lounge access for primary and add-on cardholders, unlimited golf, and a 2% forex markup.
Beyond points and lounges, you also get:
- Golf: unlimited complimentary games and lessons at participating courses in India and at select courses abroad, plus a 24×7 golf concierge
- Club Marriott: free membership for the first year, with dining and stay discounts at participating hotels
- ITC Hotels: stay 3 nights and pay for 2, and get a 1+1 buffet at participating ITC hotels
- Concierge: a 24×7 global concierge for travel plans, restaurant bookings, gift delivery and airport meet-and-greet
- Fuel: a 1% surcharge waiver on fuel spends of ₹400 or more, up to ₹1,000 per statement cycle
People forget about the ITC offer all the time, and they really shouldn’t. Book a ₹15,000-a-night stay and the free third night alone is worth more than the annual fee.
HDFC Infinia lounge access
HDFC Infinia gives you unlimited complimentary lounge access at airports in India and unlimited international lounge access through Priority Pass. It covers both primary and add-on cardholders, and there’s no minimum spend.
That add-on bit is a big deal. On most premium cards, only the main cardholder gets in free and everyone else pays. With Infinia, your whole family can walk in free, as long as they’re on add-on cards.
How to use Infinia lounge access
- In India: swipe your Infinia card at the lounge. Visa cardholders see a ₹2 charge per visit.
- Outside India: show your Priority Pass card. Priority Pass doesn’t work at lounges in India, so use your Infinia card there.
- Add-on cardholders: each add-on needs their own Priority Pass for international lounges. Without one, they’re treated as your guest and charged.
- Guests: anyone who isn’t an Infinia cardholder pays USD 27 + GST per visit, and it shows up on your statement.
What changed in 2026
HDFC made three changes to Infinia between July 2025 and July 2026:
- Insurance spends now earn up to 10,000 points a month (from July 2025).
- SmartBuy brand vouchers have their own 3,000 bonus-point monthly cap (from July 2026).
- Keeping the card now needs ₹18 lakh of annual spend or ₹50 lakh with HDFC (from April 2026).
The base earn rate, SmartBuy multipliers and transfer ratios didn’t change, and everything on this page already reflects the current rules. Want to know what each change means for your spends? We’ve broken it down in HDFC Infinia in 2026: what changed and what it means for you.
HDFC Infinia credit card eligibility
The HDFC Infinia credit card is invite-only. HDFC’s own material uses a ₹5 lakh monthly income benchmark. To keep the card, you need ₹18 lakh of annual spend or a ₹50 lakh average relationship value with the bank.
| Requirement | What HDFC looks for |
|---|---|
| How you get it | An invitation from HDFC Bank |
| Income | ₹5 lakh a month, per HDFC’s marketing material |
| Employment type | Salaried or self-employed |
| Credit score | No published minimum |
| To keep the card | ₹18 lakh annual spend (primary + add-ons) or ₹50 lakh average relationship value |
How to get HDFC Infinia
You can’t just apply for it. There’s no form. HDFC picks people it already knows well. Your best bet? Build that relationship first. Get a premium HDFC card like Regalia Gold or Diners Club Black, use it a lot, and then ask your relationship manager about an upgrade.
How to keep it
From April 2026, HDFC reviews Infinia cardholders once a financial year. You need either ₹18 lakh of spend on the card (primary and add-ons together) or an average balance of ₹50 lakh across your HDFC savings, current and deposit accounts. Meeting one of the two is enough. We’ve covered what happens if you fall short in our 2026 Infinia changes guide.
Should you get it?
Infinia works if you book travel through SmartBuy, redeem at ₹1 a point or better, and can meet the ₹18 lakh spend or ₹50 lakh relationship requirement. Tick all three and it’s one of the most rewarding cards in India.
It’s a weaker fit if you’d mostly take statement credit at ₹0.30 a point, or if your spends sit well below ₹1.5 lakh a month. If that’s you, a card without a yearly spend target will probably suit you better.
HDFC Infinia FAQs
Is HDFC Infinia invite-only?
Yes. HDFC doesn’t have an open application for Infinia. The bank invites customers it already has a strong relationship with, usually people who hold a premium HDFC card, spend a lot on it, or keep high balances with the bank.
What is the minimum salary for HDFC Infinia?
HDFC’s marketing material uses ₹5 lakh a month as a benchmark. Income alone doesn’t get you the card, though. The invitation depends on your overall relationship with the bank.
How do I redeem Infinia reward points?
Log in to SmartBuy with your Infinia card, then use your points to book flights or hotels at ₹1 a point, buy from Apple or Tanishq, or transfer them to airline and hotel partners. Statement credit is also available, but at ₹0.30 a point it’s the lowest value.
Can add-on cardholders use Infinia lounge access?
Yes. Add-on cardholders get the same unlimited domestic and international lounge access as the primary cardholder. For international lounges, each add-on needs their own Priority Pass.
Does Infinia Priority Pass work in India?
No. Priority Pass on Infinia is for lounges outside India. At Indian airports, you get in by swiping your Infinia card.
How much is one Infinia reward point worth?
One Infinia reward point is worth ₹1 on SmartBuy flights and hotels, up to 1 airline mile through transfer partners, up to ₹0.50 on products and vouchers, and up to ₹0.30 as statement credit.
Your Infinia points are worth more than 3x on travel
