You finally open the rewards page on HDFC NetBanking after months of ignoring it, and wow, there’s a lot on offer. Want cashback? Sure. A phone? Also there. Air miles, vouchers, the works. When you’ve been sitting on a pile of points, all of it looks good.
Here’s the thing though. Those options are nowhere near equal. Say you’ve got 20,000 points on an Infinia. Taking cash gets you ₹6,000 knocked off your bill, and that’s that. Send the very same points to Singapore Airlines, and they could cover a one-way Delhi to Singapore seat that was going for ₹24,243 (taxes extra).
Same points. Very different outcomes.
So before you redeem HDFC credit card points, let’s figure out what they’re really worth, which cards give you the most room to play, and where your points stretch the furthest.
Quick Answer
How to Redeem HDFC Credit Card Points
HDFC lets you redeem through NetBanking for cashback, vouchers, products or air miles. On Infinia, Diners Club Black and Regalia Gold, cashback pays the least per point, and moving points to an airline or hotel programme usually pays the most. Millennia is the odd card out, because cashback there gets you the full ₹1 per point.
Key Takeaways

On the premium cards, cashback is the weakest pick. You’re looking at ₹0.30 a point at most on Infinia and Diners Club Black, and ₹0.20 on Regalia Gold.

Transfers tend to win. Infinia and Diners Club Black points move to miles at up to 1:1. Our Delhi to Singapore example lands at roughly ₹1.28 a point.

Millennia is the odd one out. Cash is its best use, at ₹1 a point, but only 3,000 points a month.

Three years on Infinia and Diners Club Black, two on Regalia Gold.

What Are HDFC Credit Card Reward Points Worth?
We wish we could give you one number. But a point on one HDFC card can be worth several times a point on another, and then it moves again depending on what you redeem it for. New to all this? Our beginner’s guide explains what reward points are really worth.
But first, how fast do these cards actually earn?
- Infinia and Diners Club Black: 5 points per ₹150
- Regalia Gold: 5 points per ₹200 (HDFC dropped it from 4 per ₹150 on 15 May 2026, so older reviews will show the old number)
- Millennia: 5% on Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Swiggy, Zomato and a handful of other brands, 1% on the rest, all paid in points
Your points balance matters less than what each point can turn into. Here’s what HDFC itself publishes on its card pages for Infinia, Diners Club Black, Regalia Gold and Millennia (as of September 2026):
- Infinia and Diners Club Black: up to 1 airline mile per point when you transfer (the rupee value depends on the award you book, and it’s often the best deal), up to ₹0.50 on products and vouchers, and up to ₹0.30 as cashback.
- Regalia Gold: up to half a mile per point on transfers, up to ₹0.35 on products and vouchers, and up to ₹0.20 as cashback.
- Millennia: ₹0.30 on air miles, up to ₹0.30 on products and vouchers, and a full ₹1 as cashback.
At PointsFly, we grade every redemption on a simple scale (here’s how the options compare):
- Poor: under ₹0.50 a point
- Average: ₹0.50 to ₹1
- Good: ₹1 to ₹2
- Excellent: over ₹2
Put HDFC’s numbers on that scale and cashback on the three premium cards falls straight into “poor”. Vouchers barely scrape past it. A smart award booking is a different story and can push you into “good”, sometimes “excellent”.
Your HDFC Redemption Options, Ranked by Value
When you redeem HDFC credit card points, almost everything happens inside NetBanking, under your card’s reward points. We’ve put the options in order, best first.
1. Transfer to airline and hotel programmes (usually the highest value)
This is the one we’d look at first. You move your HDFC points into a loyalty programme, say Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer or Accor Live Limitless, and then spend them on a flight or a hotel night.
Nothing about the value is fixed here. A seat that costs a lot in cash but not many miles gives you a great rate per point, which is why transfers so often beat ₹1.
You do the transfer from NetBanking as well. Heads-up, though. HDFC asks for 5 to 7 working days for the airline to confirm, which rules out anything too last-minute.

PointsFly tip: A quick Delhi to Mumbai hop rarely makes your points shine. Long international routes usually do, so that’s where we’d start looking.
2. Products and vouchers
We get why people love vouchers. They’re quick and there’s no planning involved. The catch is the rate: up to ₹0.50 a point on Infinia and Diners Club Black, and up to ₹0.35 on Regalia Gold. On select products and vouchers, HDFC also lets points cover only 70% of the price, and the rest goes on your card.
If it’s a brand you already shop with, fine. Just go in knowing you’re swapping value for ease.
3. Cashback (with one big exception)
There’s something satisfying about seeing money knocked off your bill. On the premium cards, though, it’s usually the worst rate you’ll get: up to ₹0.30 a point on Infinia and Diners Club Black, up to ₹0.20 on Regalia Gold.
Person A vs Person B: Same 20,000 Points, Very Different Trips
Say you and a friend both carry an Infinia, and you’ve each built up 20,000 points. We’ll call you Person A and Person B.
Person A goes for cashback. At up to ₹0.30 a point, that’s up to ₹6,000 off the next bill. Handy? Sure. But it’s gone the moment next month’s bills arrive.
Person B does something different and moves them to KrisFlyer. Infinia transfers there 1:1, so the balance becomes 20,000 miles. Singapore Airlines wants 19,000 for a one-way Saver economy ticket between India and Singapore. Find an open seat on your date and you’re flying. What would that seat cost in cash? We checked Google Flights in September for the nonstop Delhi to Singapore flight on 18 November 2026, and it showed ₹24,243.
Divide one by the other and Person B squeezed about ₹1.28 out of each point (taxes still get paid in cash). And 1,000 miles are left over.
So Person A got “poor” value at ₹0.30 a point, and Person B got “good” value at about ₹1.28. That’s roughly four times more from the exact same balance, and all that changed was where the points went.
Award prices and fares move around a lot, so check both before you transfer anything.

Which HDFC Cards Transfer to Airlines and Hotels?
This depends a lot on which card is in your wallet. Still picking one? Our recommender helps you find the card that earns the most on your spends.
Infinia and Diners Club Black unlock the full partner list, mostly at 1:1 or 2:1. Regalia Gold can transfer too, but you’ll get half a mile at best for every point. Millennia technically can, but at ₹0.30 a point you’re far better off taking the cash.
For Infinia and Diners Club Black, here’s who you can send points to:
- 1 point = 1 mile (airlines): Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, Air France-KLM Flying Blue, Finnair Plus, Vietnam Airlines Lotusmiles, SpiceJet SpiceClub and AirAsia Rewards
- 1 point = 1 point (hotels): IHG One Rewards, Wyndham Rewards and Radisson Rewards
- 2 points = 1 mile (airlines): Air India Maharaja Club, British Airways Executive Club, Qatar Airways Privilege Club, Cathay Pacific Asia Miles, Air Canada Aeroplan, Etihad Guest, Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus, United MileagePlus, Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles and Avianca LifeMiles
- 2 points = 1 point (hotels): Accor Live Limitless, Club ITC and Marriott Bonvoy
Correct as of September 2026. HDFC does change partners and ratios, so double-check in NetBanking.
One thing to watch: 1:1 isn’t automatically the winner. A point in one hotel programme can be worth far more, or far less, than a mile with some airline. It pays to compare a couple of options first. Our guide on how to transfer HDFC reward points (and other cards’ points) goes deeper on this.
If you’re wondering how this compares with Axis, the gap is big. Magnus converts at 5 EDGE points to 2 miles with most partners, which means 20,000 points there would get you just 8,000 KrisFlyer miles. On Infinia, you’d walk away with all 20,000. (Our Axis Magnus review has the details.)
Why partner airlines matter
Most people never think about this part, and it’s often where we find a lot of our favourite deals.
Your KrisFlyer miles can fly you on more than just Singapore Airlines. Singapore Airlines sits in Star Alliance with Air India, United, Air Canada and others, so the same miles can book seats on those airlines too, when award seats are open. You’d book through the programme’s or partner airline’s site.
The Easier Way to Find Your Best Redemption
Earning points on an HDFC card takes no effort at all. Figuring out the best way to spend them? That’s where most of us get stuck.
You’d have to look up every programme your card transfers to, check how many miles each one wants, hunt for partner seats, then compare all of that against cash fares. It’s a lot of tabs. No wonder so many people just click cashback and move on.
That’s the gap PointsFly fills. We:
- find the best points deal across loyalty programmes and their partner airlines
- walk you through the transfer from your HDFC card to the right programme
- send you to the right site to book, so there’s no guesswork
You get to decide with the real numbers in front of you. Have a look at how it works for flights with credit card points and hotel stays with reward points.

Things to Know Before You Redeem HDFC Points
Your points have an expiry date
Infinia and Diners Club Black points stay valid for 3 years from the day you earn them. Regalia Gold gives you 2. On Infinia and Regalia Gold, HDFC’s terms also say points lapse if the card sits unused for more than 365 days. Got a different HDFC card? Check its terms.
Redemption fees
According to HDFC’s redemption form, cashback costs ₹50 plus taxes, and products, vouchers or air miles cost ₹99 plus taxes. Infinia and Diners Club Black are listed as exempt. Fees do change, so it’s worth a quick look at your card’s terms.
Monthly limits
- Infinia: 1.5 lakh points a month for flights, hotels and air miles, 50,000 for cashback, and 2 lakh per statement cycle overall
- Diners Club Black: 50,000 points a month for cashback
- Regalia Gold: 50,000 a month for air miles, and another 50,000 for cashback
- Millennia: between 500 and 3,000 points a month for cashback
Transfers can’t be undone
Once your points land with an airline or hotel, there’s no sending them back. That’s true of every HDFC redemption, actually. Our advice? Lock down a seat for your dates, then transfer, and expect the miles to take a few working days.
